Top Iconic Hollywood Legends Photos

Hollywood, home of the proud American film industry. The lights are blinding and so is the fame. So many stories are left untold behind the red velvet curtains and all there is that the general public has are photos. Photographs help give a good picture of what happens in the real lives of the rich and famous.

These photos may be controversial but very notable, regardless. The best black and whites come from the golden age of Hollywood legends photos. The photographs are famous not only for their composition, but usually because of the subject.

A very famous snapshot is one with Marilyn Monroe while filming the The Seven Year Itch. Monroe with her co actor come out of the theater when a light breeze lifted her skirt, thus her covering up as to not expose too much skin. This is one moment that is still celebrated and parodied in modern pop culture, the red lipstick and the white dress included.

A picture of Audrey Hepburn on a sleeveless black dress from her torso up and her accessorized with a diamond tiara and necklace is a very renown portrait shot from the film Breakfast at Tiffanys. This has Hepburn with her left hand gripping a cigarette holder while leaning her face on her right hand. The photo is so famous pop art is created to reference the photo even now.

The amazing friendship between James Dean and Dennis Stock produced a gallery of many striking photos. Stock would take pictures of Dean in scenic settings showing the life the actor had behind the camera, even before James Dean became a household name. The most notable photo of young, rebellious James Dean is one of him smoking a cigarette while walking under the rain in Times Square. Promptly, the photo is named On Times Square.

Nothing else can stop time and freeze a love story into a moment than a photograph. A notable photo has Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor where Hudson holds Liz Taylor by the shoulders really close, their face nearing to a kiss. This was for the film in 1956 called Giant one that garnered an Academy Award nomination for Hudson.

What else could be more star studded than a photo with three legendary cinema icons. A very famous photo would be one of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart with a laughing Marilyn Monroe on the seats of a theater. Bagall and Boggart were a celebrated Hollywood couple. This was for the movie premier of How to marry a millionaire.

Fred Astaire the man of musical films. Everybody dame wanted to be his dance partner. His chemistry with Ginger Rogers made them a reputable pair which resulted to ten Hollywood musicals together. As famous portrait with the actor from movie in 1941 called You will Never Get Rich is one any fan can remember. A very charming Astaire was gripping his white bow tie, looking to his right with a smug smile.

Photography and film are wonderful ways to travel back in time. The legends during the golden age of American cinema will forever live in the hearts of fans and remain as a cultural milestone for Hollywood. How marvelous it is to have iconic photographs to remember them by even beyond death.
