Frying & The Importance Of Organic Olive Oil

By Jennifer Marie Anderson

No one can deny the fact that fried food is one of the more popular types of food out there. Even though it's a product that we must take in through moderation, many chefs and food enthusiasts are in favor of it. However, with so many different cooking oils that can be taken advantage of, I believe that attention should be brought to organic olive oil. In addition, it appears as though individuals in the field of science will be able to agree with such a sentiment.

An article on Medical News Today detailed the importance of organic olive oil, as it relates to the preparation of fried food. It seems like this type of oil is more preferred compared to various seed oils, which is understandable if you consult authorities like Unaprol. This type of oil, which is made from the pressing of olives, possess a vast amount of antioxidants and crucial nutrients. It seems as though it is surprisingly stable during the culinary process as well.

Sfax University researchers put together a study that examined various cooking oils. Specifically, this was done in order to see how heat would alter the many qualities of oil, including physical and chemical. As you can probably imagine, heat has an impact on each of said qualities, sometimes negative. Regardless, you have to consider the fact that heat will play a crucial factor. From what I have seen, the ability to uphold certain components has been assessed across each of these oils.

Refined organic olive oil, as the study concluded, seemed to show a greater level of strength when compared to refined seed oils. It has to be noted that this type of oil was able to display the, "greatest resistance to oxidative deterioration" as it was being heated. What this means, in layman's terms, is that this oil's healthful properties were not reduced nearly as much. This speaks volumes about the quality of oil made from olives, as you can plainly see.

Those who haven't tried deep-frying with this type of oil may be hesitant to do so. After all, they understand the types of benefits that this oil can produce, so why would they want to put those to waste? However, it's important to understand that fried foods can be produced with the oil in question, especially if you are someone who is reasonably health-conscious. Focus on this oil so that your culinary efforts, overall, will be made that much better.
