Listen up, Type-A personalities. You do not have to demonstrate your worth to us. Unwind, and find your bliss. It can be free, or quite cheap to do so.
Stay on top of fun
Whether instigated by jokes, funny stories or even recommended doses of quirky behavior, the onset of laughter is restorative. Delivery is the most important thing. If you observe the world around you and don't take yourself too seriously, proper delivery can make even relatively mundane statements into laughter popcorn. Make yourself and somebody else smile. It doesn't cost a thing.
Keep new things in mind
If you do not want to do anything, you need to pay attention to the activities of others. Other people do fun things such as playing the piano or rock climbing. Do not ever participate right now. You can do it again later. For now, you just sit back and watch other people do all the things you would love.
Watch all the animals
Particularly in the early morning and evening, listen to the sound and rhythm of creatures in the wild. The sounds of birds, insects, frogs and more can create a naturally blissful audio landscape that you can enjoy for free by actually going to the forest, or the swamp. A noise machine is no replacement.
Take a look at the park
Get a chair or blanket and sit in the park listening to and watching the people around you. You can always bring lunch with you while enjoying the free activity of watching others. You do not have to spend cash to be happy.
Spend time in a garden
Most towns have community flower gardens or greenhouses that you can get in to without having to pay some kind of fee. It is ideal for walking around the facilities and enjoying yourself among nature.
Cloud pleasure
This is an easy one to mix with your trip to the park. Observe cloud formations and make an effort to classify the shapes in your mind. You don't have to know what type of cloud it is, but you can choose whether it looks like Wimpy from "Popeye." If you are with friends and family, share your observations and compare.
Read an excellent book
Instead of always reading to get data, you can read for pleasure. This is great for your mind because it is interactive and is not quite as hard on your brain as watching television. You will really enjoy the time spent reading.
Old photographs
Keep your mind active by looking at old photographs. You can remember the stories related to the photos and get personal enjoyment out of it.
Sports available
Playing pick-up soccer, baseball or basketball could possibly be viewed as being useful - sharpening skills, improving health - but the element of simply enjoying a game is much less pointed. The joyous state of mind brought on by doing something other than working with a client or getting groceries is a vital part of building the balance between yin and yang in your life.
Go on a stroll
Again, these are things that can be accomplished in the park, although at the river, ocean or walking trail also works. Take off your shoes and feel water and sand between your toes. Let the cool be. You aren't being useful, and that's fine. Continue your path by walking at dusk. Observe the changes in the light. Work, bills and other obligations can wait, for a time.
