Dodge Dart Centerpiece Of Perfect Attendance Promotion

By Cornelius Nunev

While it may be true that if you miss school, you miss out, a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram Victorville, California, wants youthful drivers to know that they may skip a lot more. According to reports, Victorville Motors 90 miles northeast of LA has a plan called It's a Fuel to Go to Class, a $75,000 annual charitable give-away that infuses $1 million into the local school system. Not only has the plan boosted sales, but it rewards students with ideal work - as well as their schools - with valuable awards that consist of two brand new 2013 Dodge Dart automobiles that are obtained via auction. Given that work is a factor in California's state financing of schools, this car dealership plan is clearly a big deal.

More pupils have perfect work

Ideal attendance numbers have increased considerably in the participating schools since the It's a Gas to Go to Class plan started. Over five dozen automobiles have been sold during the last 18 months at Victorville Motors because of the competition. The state has also seen an enormous increase in attendance and academic performance.

"I had no idea how successful it would be," said 47-year-old Victorville Motors dealer principal Tim Watts.

A business that prides itself for its community involvement, Victorville Motors has elevated funds and sponsored events for numerous local organizations. When a local parent asked if the car dealership had considered giving away an automobile, a light bulb went off in Watts' mind.

"It wasn't just about us. We wanted to do it as a multi-layered approach and an outreach that includes other local businesses," said Watts.

Marketing effective for sales

In 2012, Victorville Motors saw a massive increase in car sales to 850 new automobiles and 756 used automobiles. This success is in part because of the Dodge Dart promotion. There has also been a massive increase in school work. Six school districts and 12 high schools are participating in the plan. There used to only be 15 to 20 kids with ideal attendance, but that number has increased to hundreds of students since the program started.

If the winner is under 18, the car is awarded to the parent because minors cannot win vehicles with California law. The students who maintain an ideal work are given a golden ticket at the end of the year, so they can participate in the dodge Dart charity raffle. Students are also given supplemental awards such as gift cards for motivation.

Rewarding for work
