For A Good Exotic Pomeranian Puppy Tulsa Offers A Recommendable Destination

By Andrew Lewis

The Pomeranian is among the large number of dogs that can be classified as toys currently. There are only toy versions of these dogs in existence because they are purebred. The name Pomeranian originates from Northern Europe in the Pomeranian region. The dogs can also be called pom poms or simply poms. In the US, their popularity is moderate. When in search of an exotic pomeranian puppy Tulsa should be given priority.

These dogs come in a total of 23 different color combinations. All these color combinations are accepted by the American Kennel Club. Some of the colors include white, orange, chocolate, sable, black, and beaver. Different combinations of these colors are acceptable by the AKC. Strips and spots are not acceptable in this breed. If the dog has strips or spots, it may be considered as a fault and lack of conformity.

The blue poms are the most common type of poms. The name does not suggest that the dog has a blue coat but it comes from the color of their nose. They usually have a dull black fur with their nose having some kind of blue coloring. They may also have blue eyes.

As poms age, the color of their coat tends to change. The puppies do not retain the color they were born with, but instead the coat changes in color with age. A new born puppy that has a cream coat may for example end up being white or brown in color when it is full grown.

This breed of dogs has been owned by some very popular people. There are several artists, celebrities, queens and even presidents who have played an important role in making them popular through ownership. Some of the most remarkable names include artists such as Michelangelo and Mozart. Queen Victoria played a great role in making poms popular in Europe by acquiring one named Marco in the year 1888.

The breed has also been owned by presidents of the United States and presidents of many other countries. Another important fact about poms is that when the Titanic sunk, two Pomeranians survived the ordeal. Aboard the titanic, there were nine dogs in total, but only three survived and two of the surviving dogs were poms.

Although poms are descendants of big sled dogs, the modern versions are very small in size. Their ancestors were used to herd reindeer before they were crossbred with other breeds to produce poms. Queen Victoria of England played a big role in breeding poms into their small size. A typical pom will weigh between 7 and 10 pounds.

Despite their small size, these dogs are very courageous. They have been noted as not being afraid of larger dogs and when they get a chance, they can take on big dogs in a fight. They need to be well trained and socialized. Without proper socialization and training, it may be hard for them to stay with other pets or dog breeds. Training is most effective if it is done at an early age.
