Take CPR AED First Aid Classes To Work With Children

By Francis Riggs

Making the transition from having your kids home with you during the day to taking them to day care for their very first day is big. You worry about their safety as long whether or not you have packed all the essentials they will need to make it through the day. There are some questions and concerns that you should have addressed before making the final day care drop-off. Find out whether or not all personnel have taken cpr aed first aid classes. You want your child to have the best care possible and this is information you need to know.

Do not take toys to the school. As much as you want to take your childs favorite toy, you have to think about the welfare of other children at the school as well. A harmless toy to your child might pose a dangerous risks to others. Remember, toys are made from different types of chemicals, dyes and material, some children might be allergic.

Make a list of the items that are allowed in the classroom. More than likely if you are taking a baby to the facility, you will need to know about items such as diapers, wipes, baby bottom cream, formula and storing breast milk. It is important to label all of these items and date them. The teacher will not know when your bottles have been made that is why it is important keep the dates in plain view.

Remember, permanent marker eventually wears off after being washed, cleaned and sanitized over and over again. It might be necessary for you to label items each week, day or month. However, you have to do whatever it takes to keep your child safe.

Avoid taking baked goodies to the classroom. Not everyone can eat foods prepared by others at home, especially young children. There are so many children who have peanut allergies and their foods have to be thoroughly monitored. Also, be sure to know the children in your childs class and know their allergies as well.

If your child is sick and does need medication check with the schools policy. It might be that office personnel are the only ones allowed to give medication, or a classroom teacher. Parents know that sharp objects can quickly cause damage to a child.

Double check your childs bag each morning because a left ink pen, pencil or any other sharp object can cause harm to your child or someone elses child unintentionally. You must at all times remain vigiliant and think of everyones safety you little one comes in contact with.

Each facility have their own policies about comfort items such as teething rings, pain reliever, pacifiers and other items. Speak with the centers director to find out their policies. Remember, your child is not the only one in the classroom, so the center has to do what is in the best interest and safety of everyone. It is always going to be tempting to send more for your child to daycare. However, your little one might not need everything you want to send. Some items you might think are harmless could cause enormous problems. Be sure to seek advice and permission before packing and just leaving items of question.
