Orlando Airport Shuttle And Door-To-Door Transportation

By Jason Davis

When away home, travelers often need find alternative transportation. As a result, there is often a need for an Orlando airport shuttle to local amusement parks, hotels and other locations. While some only serve designated destinations, others can provide door-to-door service. If planning a stay at a local Disney hotel, visitors can often take a free shuttle as part of a package.

A town car is often a quiet, peaceful and luxurious way to travel between destinations for those traveling on an unlimited budget. Town cars have numerous benefits over other options. For example, individuals can often rent town cars for an hour, a few hours, a day, a week or sometimes longer.

Mears and other local taxi services are always available outside airport terminals. While this is the case, it can often be far less expensive to use a designated or door-to-door shuttle service. For, while taxis operated on a metered system, shuttles are often a flat fee for one or more passengers. At the same time, for travelers in a hurry, taxis can often provide a more direct service as some shuttles tend to stop at different locations in route.

With companies like Uber and Lyft now available, others may want to opt for these services. While there have been issues with drivers and passengers, nothing has happened to driver or passengers of these two companies that has not happened to others driving or riding in taxis. Travelers need keep in mind that quoted rates often do not include rush hours or other periods in which surge pricing goes into effect.

Public transportation remains the least expensive mode of transportation in Orlando, Florida and elsewhere. Most people who use public transportation on a regular basis often save a lot of money by not having to drive or park. For those interested in public transportation, stop by a local visitor center to pick up maps, schedule and other information related to city transit systems.

SuperShuttle, probably the best known of all the United State shuttle services provides door-to-door service. There are lesser expensive shared shuttles like MCO which operate between the airport and several different hotel chains. Some hotels also offer free shuttle service depending on the distance between locations.

Unlike MCO which operates on a reservation and drop-off basis with multiple passengers and locations, SuperShuttle provides direct door-to-door service. MCO on the other hand runs about half the cost of SuperShuttle since it only serves the airport and local lodging facilities. While shuttle service is definitely more limited, SuperShuttle and MCO do generally serve local youth hostels along with well known hotels, motels and resorts.

One of the best options is to stay at hotels which offer either free or low cost shuttle service. When booking a vacation package through Disney, shuttle service is free of charge in Florida. Travelers can save a great deal of money by flying and taking a free shuttle to Disney World and other hotels instead of paying the high daily parking rates many hotels and resorts charge in the area.
