These religious programs generally offer individuals the opportunity to focus on a specific faith, or, to pursue coursework as a comparative theologian. Often individuals can complete these programs in a short amount of time, especially with regards to online studies. Whereas, in others, it can take several years of classroom study to complete work towards obtaining these credentials.

Depending on the faith of the individual, some churches may accept such credentials while others may not. While there are minimal costs involved for credentials and study materials, the cost of going through the Universal Life Church or similar websites can often be quite less than the cost of completing work towards a traditional degree.

Depending on the program, courses can vary in cost and length. One of the most inexpensive and fastest ways to obtain a certificate is online. One nice feature of which is that individuals can become ordained without spending a number of years completing work towards a doctorate of divinity at an accredited college or seminary.

Whether working as a minister, mystic, or spiritual counselor, it is important to have knowledge with regards to multiple faiths. Of course, most often the main focus will be with relation to the individual completing such study. Although, there are also offerings which include a Master of Divinity in a number of different religions.

For those desiring to complete work through a specific school like Harvard or Star King, there are also programs which allow students to complete at least some work online. However, most all require students to attend a number of courses on-campus and complete testing at various intervals. In some cases, past coursework and experience can be exchanged for college credit though these opportunities are often few and far between.

When doing so through an accredited university, there are generally also requirements that one have college credit which can also be transferred into the program. Once the information has been provided to the school of choice, the individual may be able to reduce the amount of time required to complete a degree. Although, in most cases, divinity schools and seminaries are going to require one enter with at least a masters level degree, preferably related to religious or spiritual studies.

Some opportunities exist which allow individuals to obtain credentials related to multiple faiths though these are often few and far between. Still, whether completing studies online or in a classroom setting, having the knowledge that these programs provide can be essential to success in any roles associated with religion or spirituality.
